Reportedly, Gerdau Long Steel North America announced to raise prices for rebars, beams and merchant bars by US$20/short ton. Gerdau said that it decided to hike prices is in order to response the competitive market conditions. Meanwhile, it’s known that the major steel longs producers in the US, including Nucor, SDI and CMC have all increased the merchant bar prices by US$20/short ton.
