Blackberrys, the premium men’s apparel brand strikes again with its second season, A/W 2012 of Blackberrys Sharp Nights, the greatest extravagance of fashion & panache held on the 17th October 2012 at Mahalaxmi Race Course- Tote on the Turf.

Four Bollywood Directors Walk Ramp for Blackberrys AW2012

The Sharp Nights concept is a celebration of the values of “Sharp” men. It is Blackberrys endeavor to recognize the pack of distinctly sharp men from across various walks of life.  Thereby, the event is a culmination of an integrated campaign to find the group of sharp men from the Indian netizens.

Blackberrys Sharp Nights is the common platform which brings together some of the brightest well known minds and these sharp Indian netizens.    Last season saw Farhan Akhtar walk the ramp at the event and this edition of Blackberrys Sharp Nights is themed as Director’s Cut. It sees four of the sharpest directors in the industry who are in their own ways, instrumental in shaping the new age Indian cinema, walk the ramp at their sharpest best. Each of them represent values of “Sharp” which the brand Blackberrys lives and breathes – Madhur Bhandarkar best known for his take on the glamour world, Kunal Kohli personifies emotional quotient, Rohit Shetty for action and humor and lastly Imtiaz Ali for maverick self. Each of them has been instrumental in the evolution of Indian cinema, challenging status quo – what used to be slotted as low budget art cinema is now mainstream commercially successful.    Their version of issues, relationships, cinema, represent their unique twist to established notions. This idea resonates with Blackberrys brand mantra of Go Sharp and the “Twist” which is brand DNA and manifests in everything they do.     Marking the success of Blackberrys with the grand celebration, Mr. Yogesh Tiwari, VP Sales and Marketing Blackberrys comments, “It gives me immense pleasure to announce the second season of Blackberrys Sharp Nights – Director’s Cut. The genesis of sharp nights concept came to being to be able to define a different reward mechanism for some of the brightest men in the country. Another award function would have been very boring and hence the element of the ramp walk for these bright minds to show our recognition and appreciation to the contribution they have made to their respective fields. This also becomes a way to see these cutting edge men in an avatar which suits their sharp personalities.”

Go Sharp is Blackberrys tagline, launched in 2011. The word “Go” in the tagline is a call to action; it connotes energy and passion which defines the youth of today. “Sharp” is decoded as a visceral extension of a charismatic personality. High on fashion and style, Sharp men exude the oomph which is a sum total of attitude and looks.

It was an evening where two major clusters, fashion and cinema joined hands to raise a toast to the triumph of Blackberrys Sharp Nights. It saw ace bollywood directors - Madhur Bhandarkar, Kunal Kohli, Imtiaz Ali & Rohit Shetty sizzle the ramp in an all new ‘Avatar’ as show stoppers.

To make it magnificent, renowned DJ and Percussionist Jonqui collectively rolled music to create the aura that complemented the fashion show. Adding to the oomph was a performance by Lumina - The Laser Violinist with her stunning virtuoso on the electric violin as she manipulated the lasers all by her self. It was a night interspersed with visual & audio performances to harmonize & amplify the style and the ambience.  A complete blockbuster performance on the eve of revering the Sharpness of the brand and its gamete of fashion and cinema blow the mind off for sure

Commenting on this electric evening Mr. Bhandarkar with innumerable National Award winning films said, “Blackberrys in true sense speaks out the language of the new age not only with its style but also with everything they do.” While Kunal Kohli notes, “Film industry today is not only about making the world see what they want but making them see what they should want. With regards to Blackberrys I heartily congratulate them as their trends not only follow the International style but they know what the men need and should don.”

“Sharpness is the single force that cuts through the clutter and makes you stand out – it is not just the mind but how you bring out your personality through what you wear” said Rohit Shetty. Imtiaz Ali usually seen in casuals sported an all formal three piece tuxedo on the ramp said, “It feels great to walk the ramp for Blackberrys and don this look. Certainly feels Sharp.”
